A biomass power plant consists of the following major elements:

  • raw material biomass storage
  • fermentation chambers
  • biogas tank (low pressure)
  • electricity generator
  • controls & automation system

All of these elements are common to any Biomass Power Plant available.
The power output capacitiy of such plants ranges from 0.3 to 5.5 MW., the size more often implemented is around 500KW to suit the biomass quantities available at acceptable transportation cost. Larger plants often are devised around municipalities, to process Municipal Solid Waste.
